Obedience brings blessings!

....Okay, here is my very first blog entry! (Hallelujah, she made it, - it's a miracle!) Right, well the main reason for this blog is, to give testimony of past challenges and trials, including all mistakes, in order to encourage others in their walk with the Lord.

I've named it Faith Adventures because when embarking on something the Lord has told us to do, - that is what it is! Though it doesn't always 'feel like' an adventure, if we would choose always to'look ahead' keeping our eyes fixed on Him, and 'pushing through' those hard times, - the rewards will be immeasurable! - Not to mention coming into a deeper place of relationship with Him.

What is the alternative? A lack lustre, mediocre life of same old...same old...I don't know about you, but I do not want to arrive in heaven and find out about all the people that could have been helped...could have been saved, if I'd just been obedient to the Voice of God.

Anyway, I'm kicking things off with what I think is one of the most important scriptures in the bible, one that most Christians will know which is, Romans 12 v 1 -2 about becoming a living sacrifice, and being transformed by the renewing of our minds. The main point of entry the enemy uses in order to attack and control us, is our minds. If he can then get us to focus on a negative thought, and better still cause us to 'speak it,' he now has the authority to bring it to pass in our lives, - which is why we must each be diligent daily, in meditating scriptures then confessing them, in order to bring the blessings to pass in our lives, and not the curse.

I'm now going to give example of what can happen when we make a decision on our past experience (or wrong mindset) instead of trusting what the Lord is telling us to do. Many times we can mess up the call of God on our lives by 'second guessing' His leading. Proverbs 19 v 3 tells us; 'The foolishness of man subverts his way (ruins his affairs); then his heart is resentful and frets against the Lord' (Amp)

I moved into this house in Marlow in late December 2011 and for the first 6 months, faced battle after battle. This was besides endeavouring to settle in and get my bearings in a new area where I knew no one. The way the enemy worked on me also, was to keep on causing niggling problems to occur that needed sorting out, then as I endeavoured to fix them, my housework would begin to build up and I'd become overwhelmed. Amidst all of this, I would hear the Lord whisper; 'Get a cleaner...'

My mind baulked, - 'Excuse me, - a what?!' - I thought that people who had cleaners were posh people with important jobs, - not folks like me who seemed to spend all their time trying to get their electronic equipment to work? (Ha ha) Another word of wisdom here; most things the Lord tells us to do, will be in direct conflict with our minds, also what God orders, - he pays for! Anyway so, in not heeding Him at that time, I made life much harder for myself than need be. I also achieved very little of what He has called me to do last year, which is to write! Anyway, thank the Lord, I have recently obeyed the instruction (at last) and now have a cleaner. Oh,...the peace that followed...not to mention the relief...

So, whatever you know God is calling you to do, get a revelation; 'Ignore your crazy mind, - and obey!
